Course Description
The Viva Las Vagus 2 Day Introductory Continuing Education Course totaling 16 hours for both days aims to educate Manual Therapists about the health benefits for patients from treatment of the Vagus Nerve. Manual Practitioners ( RMT’s and MOT’s ) will have the opportunities to watch demonstrations, share discussions and manually work in partners throughout both days in a Supervised setting.
Preparatory home study prior to attending the first morning please complete the following lessons:
Lesson One: Watch the five Vagus Nerve videos.
Lesson Two: Read the two articles based on professionally conducted Vagus nerve research.
Lesson Three: Draw the pathway of the Vagus nerve starting from the medulla oblongata, be sure to label all of the branches. Submit the drawing assignment through the LMS.
In class time involves:
25 % theory discussion and power points involving anatomy, physiology and diseases of the Vagus Nerve
15% demonstration of assessment, treatment and home care techniques
60% hands on Partner Practice involving assessments, treatments and home care for the Vagus Nerve
Learning Outcomes
Upon Completion the Participants will have gained the following:
- An understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the Vagus Nerve
- Anatomical structural Implications for assessment and treatment and
- Confidence with manual skills for assessments and treatments and demonstrating homecare
- Awareness of the Vagus Nerve trends happening now and over the last 5 years
- Comprehension of the multiple Vagus Nerve Theories that have evolved over the last 20 years
- A deeper knowledge regarding the vital importance of Safety and treating the Vagus Nerve
- A new passion for discovering more about the Vagus Nerve treatment manually to support the health goals of patients
- Enhanced self-care on the Practitioners behalf of their own Vagus Nerve health
